Proposal Engineer

We are looking for a Proposal Engineer with a main responsibility in supporting Sales and preparations of technical sales proposals. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but also other locations in Finland are negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.


Your role and responsibilities  
 
As a Proposal Engineer your work will include preparation of technical sales proposals, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and business objectives. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of our AMER Sales Support team with diverse expertise.


Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Bid management, generate customer specific solutions, specifications and quotations.
  • Evaluate inquires and register/maintain opportunity information.
  • Configure solution according to defined needs.
  • Preparing cost calculations according to directives and agreed targets.
  • Evaluate technical and environmental risks of the solution.
  • Ensure that response time for sales inquiries / request / orders are met.
  • Perform technical assistance to Sales and customers.
  • Participate in relevant sales meetings with customers. 

 

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have: 

 

  • Engineering degree, preferably mechanical or electrical.
  • Experience related to the energy industry in engineering and design is an advantage.
  • More important than experience is attitude, open minded and willingness to learn.
  • Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Conceptual sales skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global team environment under minimal supervision.
  • Goal focused and a "can do" attitude are a must.
  • Willingness to travel.
