Wärtsilä  Energy  Business  is  looking  for  a  Purchaser  to  strengthen  the  Material  Management  team.  As  a Purchaser your workdays mainly consist of contacting internal and external stakeholders, as well as following up and securing correct purchasing activities.



Vaasa, Finland.



  • As a Purchaser, you are responsible for project related purchasing activities within nominated categories, such as securing and coordinating the deliveries according to project requirements and supplier time schedule.
  • You are also responsible of offer evaluations and project specific purchase negotiations with suppliers.In your work, you will also ensure alignment and cooperation with strategic sourcing.
  • You will actively develop the way of working in cooperation with different stakeholders.



  • To succeed as a Purchaser, you should have good negotiation skills and a result-oriented attitude.
  • In your daily work, you will work closely with team members and different stakeholders which requires good communication and team working skills.
  • Accuracy, strong problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to work under pressure are needed in this position.
  • You should have a technical or commercial education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) and a good knowledge of English and Finnish/Swedish.
  • Minimum 2 years experience from a similar position and proven track record is required.
  • Previous experience in SAP is also required.
