We are looking for a Quality Manager with a main responsibility in ensuring that project quality requirements are fulfilled throughout the entire project lifecycle, from engineering and supplier manufacturing to inspections, delivery, and project handover. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland. We offer a possibility to hybrid work. 

 

Your role and responsibilities  

As a Quality Manager, your work will include supporting the execution of complex offshore projects, primarily focusing on Engine + Auxiliary packages, with the potential to expand into propulsion systems in the future. You will work closely with project teams, suppliers, shipyards, customers, classification societies, and third-party inspectors to ensure technical integrity, contractual compliance, and successful project execution. You’ll be working as part of the Power Supply – Customer Delivery organization. 

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans and project-specific quality documentation. 

  • Prepare, review, and approve Project Inspection and Test Plans and supplier/vendor ITPs. 

  • Ensure quality documentation complies with contractual requirements, customer specifications, classification society requirements, and applicable industry standards. 

  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with quality requirements during manufacturing and assembly processes. 

  • Coordinate and monitor quality inspection activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests, witness points, and hold points. 

  • Lead the management of non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions. 

  • Act as the main quality interface towards customers, classification societies, suppliers, shipyards, and third-party inspectors. 

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate quality-related project risks and support internal and external quality audits. 

 

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have: 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline. 

  • Several years of experience in quality management within marine, offshore, shipbuilding, power generation, or heavy industry. 

  • Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, shipyards, or EPC/offshore projects. 

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspections, quality assurance, and quality control. 

  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests, Inspection and Test Plans, and quality documentation. 

  • Knowledge of classification society requirements and international quality standards, such as ISO 9001. 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in an international project environment. 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and willingness to travel internationally when required, up to 20% of working time.
