Quality Manager

We are looking for a Quality Manager to join the Fuel Gas Supply Systems department within Wärtsilä Marine Power Supply.  
In this position you would be responsible for the technical quality assurance for the key components used in the Wärtsilä Fuel Gas Supply Systems products. You would also be involved in collecting information about key components from the field, be involved in quality/technical issues and lead the implementation of the improvement with the suppliers. 

 

Location:

The location of this position is in Vaasa Finland, in Gdynia Poland or in Trieste Italy.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical quality validation of component suppliers, participate in audits, FATs and dispatch inspections
  • Follow suppliers quality performance; follow up quality claims and lead the quality development together with the suppliers
  • Making instructions for manufacturing and testing
  • Collect information from the installations in the field
  • Act as FGSS representative in quality forums (PIP forums) and lead Fuel Gas Supply Systems PIP cases
  • Have the quality assurance role for Fuel Gas Supply Systems

 

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience from design, commissioning work, project management or quality control (experience from cryogenic equipment seen as an advantage)
  • Previous experience from manufacturing seen as an advantage
  • Previous experience from NDT and welding seen as an advantage
  • Previous experience from auditing (suppliers, processes…) seen as an advantage
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and technical documentation
  • A systematic and active approach to work
  • Good skills in problem solving, decision making, negotiation and reporting
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Ability to travel (approx. 30-40 days/year)
  • Fluent in English
