We are looking for an Automation Engineer or Senior Automation Engineer (based on experience) with a main responsibility for Maintaining & developing control and measurement systems for research engine test platforms
The position is permanent and is located in the Wärtsilä Engine Research lab. in Vaasa, Finland.
Your role and responsibilities:
As an Automation Engineer, you are working in the front end of Wärtsilä’s engine development & technologies. You are making it possible to develop future engine technologies and further validate those. You’ll be working as a part of the Single Cylinder Engine testing team with diverse expertise.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Maintain, development and upgrade of control and measurement systems for engine test platforms
- Steer, guide and carry out electrical assembly tasks related to different instrumentations in the engine test cell
- Update and develop the measurement chain from measurement moment to database in the engine test platform
- Verify that measurement data is correct and saved properly
- Usage and development of different macros and programs for measurement data post-processing
- Support for different activities in engine testing
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- Relevant technical education (BSc / MSc in automation or electrical engineering)
- Interest in and basic knowledge of engine technology
- Good skills in control & measurement systems, basic knowledge and experience in rapid prototype control are seen as an advantage
- Good skills in communication and documentation
- Good team working skills, as well as the ability to work independently
- Good command of English and Finnish or Swedish
- Experience in Research and Development related tasks seen as an advantage
