We are now looking for a Senior Change Management Engineer to join our energetic and customer-oriented Content Management Technical Instructions team of 15 dedicated professionals working for a better future. The role is offered as a permanent contract and will be based in our Powergate office in Vaasa, Finland.
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Change Management Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Requests for Change (RFC) to the Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&MM) and related work cards, along with Spare Part Catalogues (SPC) for the products you are responsible for. You will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the requested changes are thoroughly validated. Utilising our change management tool, Polarion, you will ensure that the documentation is updated in a timely, professional, and transparent manner. This role is crucial in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of our technical documentation, which directly impacts the satisfaction and success of our customers.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Collecting, coordinating, approving, and assigning Requests for Change (RFC).
- Managing and leading the creation, updating, and harmonisation of content for the products you are responsible for.
- Ensuring a high-quality flow of information between internal and external stakeholders.
- Chairing RFC, Status, and Steering Committee (SteCo) meetings.
- Reviewing updated content to ensure compliance with Technical Information guidelines.
- Ensuring Change Management procedures are followed at all times.
- Reporting on non-conformities and related costs.
- Compiling monthly reports for the Technical Information Management Team.
- Implementing and fine-tuning tools, processes, and ways of working within the Content Management Technical Instructions team.
The following will enable you to succeed in this role:
- BSc or MSc in Engineering, Information Management, or similar professional qualifications.
- Relevant professional work experience.
- Knowledge of Wärtsilä products is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in content revision and variant change management.
- A strong interest and willingness to learn about engine technology, technical communication, and content management systems.
- A problem-solving mindset with resourcefulness to find solutions and the ability to think outside the box.
- A meticulous and process-oriented approach.
- Ability to effectively prioritise tasks, manage time efficiently, and work independently.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Being a social and curious team player who works well with others.
- High energy and determination, with a proactive attitude and the drive to overcome challenges and achieve goals.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
