Senior Product Support Engineer / Expert, Fuel & Gas Supply Systems

We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Product Support Engineer / Expert to join our skilled Engine Auxiliary Systems team. We welcome candidates at various levels of seniority, as the role can be offered as Product Support Engineer, Senior Product Support Engineer, Technical Expert, or Senior Technical Expert based on your experience.
The preferred location for this role is Vaasa, Finland, but Turku, Finland and Trieste, Italy can also be considered. Our team embraces a hybrid working model, offering the flexibility to work partially remotely.
To support our global customer base, occasional travel is part of the role. The typical travel range is approximately 20–50 working days per year, with flexibility to adjust the frequency according to your preferences and personal circumstances.
What will you be doing?
In this position, you’ll handle technical queries from end customers, resolving complex technical and operational issues while contributing to product improvements that support our quality targets and customer satisfaction. You’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between theory and practice, connecting field operations with R&D by bringing real-world incident insights to developers and suppliers to help prevent recurrence.
You’ll act as a system and component expert for both LNG, Ammonia, and Methanol fuel systems, supporting the responsible team across field and office-based activities. The role requires a system-level perspective, with the ability to address mechanical processes as well as some electrical and automation-related challenges. Your responsibilities will include involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI), issue resolution, Product Improvement Process (PIP) tasks, and participation in audits.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing high-level expert support for internal and external customers.
- Conducting site surveys and troubleshooting in the field.
- Performing failure analyses and root cause analyses.
- Producing field follow-up materials, feedback analyses, and reports.
- Creating and maintaining technical content in service bulletins.
- Participating in the introduction of new products and solutions.
- Supporting product improvement processes by sharing valuable field experiences and feedback.
- Representing the company in customer and supplier meetings.
- Occasionally hosting training sessions for internal and external customers.
- Actively engaging in continuous competence development and acquiring new knowledge within your area of expertise.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar education, or qualifications gained through relevant work experience.
- Strong mechanical skills and understanding, complemented by a working knowledge of electrical components and automation/control systems.
- Ability to approach problems from a system-level perspective, integrating multiple disciplines to develop effective solutions.
- Practical experience with gas systems (NG/LNG) in the field.
- A basic understanding of mass and heat balances.
- Experience with engine cooling, heat recovery, lubrication, or gas systems.
- A solution-oriented mindset and excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ambition to learn, adapt to, and develop new technologies.
- Proficient English language skills are required, Finnish or Swedish language skills are beneficial.
- Willingness to travel when required.
