We are looking for a Senior Strategic Purchaser with a main responsibility focus on large castings and machining. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but also other locations are negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.  
 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Senior Strategic Purchaser your work will include acting in a key role in the supplier interface, lead supply management activities and co-create & implement category team action plan. You’ll be working as a part of international Supply Management organization connected to 4-stroke engine sourcing. 

 

As a Senior Strategic Purchaser, your work will focus on these responsibilities 

 

  • Contribute to cross-functional Category team strategy creation, action plan and implementation 

  • Ensuring Quality, Delivery, Lead Time, Cost development and Compliance of materials and services for own area of responsibility 

  • Managing and developing supplier base, performance, relationships and negotiations 

  • Supporting supplier and product validation process 

  • Securing supplier long-term capacity and forecasting 

  • Work closely together with key internal stakeholders like R&D and Product Management 

 

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:  

 

  • MSc or BSc in Economics or Engineering, or qualified by equivalent experience 

  • Working knowledge of international supply chain processes 

  • Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing 

  • Hands-on experience and/or strong technical understanding of machining processes 

  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder influencing skills 

  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal abilities 

  • Self-motivated, accountable and reliable 

  • Fluent in spoken and written English 

  • Willingness to travel
