We are excited to announce that we are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Warranty Expert to join our skilled Warranty Management AMER team.
The location for this position is Vaasa, Finland. The role is offered as a permanent contract. Our team embraces a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility to work partially remotely. The role may involve occasional travel, with the possibility of more distant trips depending on business needs.
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Warranty Expert, you will be responsible for the seamless, end-to-end processing of warranty claims for designated installations. Leveraging your technical acumen and strong negotiation skills, you will act as the primary point of contact for all warranty-related inquiries. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of warranty issues within your area of responsibility.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring fast end-to-end processing of warranty claims for assigned installations based on technical facts.
- Acting as the main customer interface for warranty-related matters for assigned installations.
- Administering warranty claims and responding promptly and professionally in line with the defined warranty handling process, including maintaining data for relevant products and projects.
- Securing, in cooperation with Technical Service, that necessary corrective actions resulting from warranty claims are taken in a timely manner.
- Defining, organising, and securing required actions and ordering replacement parts or manpower to rectify warranty claims quickly and professionally, including participating in the re-claiming process towards vendors.
- Monitoring and ensuring that sufficient warranty provisions are in place.
- Minimising warranty and failure costs for Wärtsilä and downtime for customers.
- Ensuring that warranty policies are applied consistently.
- Escalating technical or financial issues in a timely manner.
- Focusing on achieving results together.
- Following up proactively on claims with customers.
- Following Wärtsilä’s business ethics and rules, always acting in a safe and responsible manner.
The below will enable you to succeed in this role:
- MSc or BSc in engineering, or relevant education related to maritime installations.
- Knowledge of engine systems, electrical components, and general maritime products.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; Spanish considered an advantage.
- Understanding of contractual and commercial frameworks.
- High level of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Experience with databases such as online tools and SAP is required.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Service-focused approach aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Flexible work hours
