We are looking for a Software Developer / Measurement Engineer with a main responsibility for maintaining and developing measurement software developed in-house in RDE engine testing. The preferred location for this permanent position is Vaasa, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work. 
  
Your role and responsibilities:  
 
As a Software Developer / Measurement Engineer your work will include maintaining and developing measurement software developed in-house in RDE engine testing and creating plugins/scripts for various acquisition software. In this position coding is not always full-time work and you will also participate in the instrumentation of engine test components and measurements on laboratory engines. Typical measurements include temperature, pressure, strain/stress, displacement etc. with a sampling frequency ranging from 1Hz to 15MHz. You will also participate projects as a measurement expert. It is also important to develop and improve measurement equipment and methods to achieve even lower measurement uncertainties. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part dynamic instrumentation and measurement team with diverse expertise.
 
To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have: 
 

  • BSc/MSc in software development/computer science/automation engineering or similar experience or competence
  • A few years of experience in software development
  • C/C++, python, web development
  • Embedded systems SW
  • Embedded systems HW and electronics knowledge seen as a benefit
  • Knowledge about OPC UA, CAN and Modbus TCP/IP seen as a benefit
  • Fluency in verbal and written English. Other language skills (Finnish or Swedish) are considered as an advantage
