We are looking for a Strategic Purchaser with a main responsibility in Supply Management. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but other locations are also negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work. 
  
Your role and responsibilities: 
 
As a Strategic Purchaser, your work will include acting in a key role in the supplier interface, leading supply management activities and co-creating & implementing category team action plans. You’ll be working as a part of an international Supply Management organization connected to 4-stroke engine sourcing.
 
Requirements for the position: 

 

  • Contribute to cross-functional Category team strategy creation, action plan and implementation
  • Ensuring Quality, Delivery, Lead Time, Cost development and Compliance of materials and services for own area of responsibility
  • Managing and developing supplier base, performance, relationships and negotiations
  • Supporting supplier and product validation process
  • Securing supplier long-term capacity and forecasting
  • Work closely together with key internal stakeholders like R&D and Product Management

 
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have: 
 

  • MSc or BSc in Economics or Engineering, or qualified by equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of international supply chain processes
  • Proven track record in sourcing
  • Well-developed and effective negotiation and influencing skills
  • Engaging presentation skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results
  • Self-motivated, driven and reliable to take responsibility for your actions
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience in SAP is seen as a benefit
  • Willingness to travel
