We are now looking for a Strategic Purchaser to join our team of experts. This opportunity is offered on a permanent basis, and the successful candidate will be based in Vaasa, Finland.

What will you be doing?

 

Acting as a key role in supplier interface, the Strategic Purchaser will lead the supply management activities within their individual area of responsibility and according to the category action plan. 

 

As a Strategic Purchaser, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
•    Ensuring Quality, Delivery, Lead Time and Cost development of materials and services for own area of responsibility
•    Managing and developing supplier base, performance, relationships and negotiations
•    Creating and updating supplier agreements
•    Supporting supplier and product validation process
•    Securing long term capacity and forecasting
•    Analysing future supply demand
•    Gathering and analysing spend and supplier data, executing benchmarking and providing data to the relevant functions
•    Work closely together with key internal stakeholders like R&D and Product Management
•    Securing compliance to Supply Management processes/procedures, strategies and agreements

 

The below will enable you to shine in this role:
•    MSc or BSc in Economics or Engineering, or qualified by equivalent experience
•    Working knowledge of international supply chain processes
•    Proven track record in sourcing
•    Experience in Purchasing & Sourcing related modules in SAP is seen as a benefit
•    Well-developed and effective negotiation and influencing skills
•    Engaging presentation skills
•    Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results
•    Self-motivated, driven and reliable to take responsibility of your actions
•    Proactive approach towards problem resolution, focused on positive outcomes
•    Demonstrable capability to implement and following activities to ensure sustainability
•    Fluency in English, both verbal and written
•    Willingness to travel
