Wärtsilä Marine Power, Power Supply is looking for a Strategic Purchaser. In this position you act in a key role in supplier interface. The position is permanent, and its location is Vaasa, Finland. Possibility to work remotely can be discussed. 

 

What will you be doing?
Acting as a key role in supplier interface, the Strategic Purchaser will lead the supply management activities within their individual area of responsibility and according to the category action plan. 
 
As a Strategic Purchaser, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Ensuring Quality, Delivery, Lead Time and Cost development of materials and services for own area of responsibility
  • Managing and developing supplier base, performance, relationships and negotiations
  • Creating and updating supplier agreements
  • Supporting supplier and product validation process
  • Securing long term capacity and forecasting
  • Analysing future supply demand
  • Work closely together with key internal stakeholders like R&D and Product Management
  • Securing compliance to Supply Management processes/procedures, strategies and agreements

 
The below will enable you to shine in this role:

  • MSc or BSc in Economics or Engineering, or qualified by equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of international supply chain processes
  • Proven track record in sourcing
  • Well-developed and effective negotiation and influencing skills
  • Engaging presentation skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results
  • Self-motivated, driven and reliable to take responsibility of your actions
  • Experience in SAP is seen as a benefit
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel
