We are hiring 500 students from all technical and business fields to work with us in different positions, located in Vaasa, Helsinki and Turku with remote opportunities and flexible ways of working.

In Summer Power - Business Administration, Development & Design we offer general business related, commercial tasks with other non-technical opportunities, such as UX and Service Design. The applicable teams are located either in Support Functions or our two main business areas (Marine Business or Energy Business) in Finland. This category includes for example HR, Business Development, Innovation and Project Management related positions.  

 

Responsibilities:

The work offered in Business Administration, Development and Design is guided by the Wärtsilä purpose and our visions of the future. You will work under task related targets, quality standards and guidelines with the support of experienced colleagues. As a trainee you will be in contact with different stakeholders, both internal and external, which is why good communication skills are important. Continuous development and innovation are a part of our culture, so you will also get the chance to help us develop our operations within your responsibility area.  

 

You will have independent work responsibilities but also support your team in daily work and development of task specific processes. More specific tasks will be determined by your field of study, motivation and the function you are chosen for. Tasks in this category may include things like: data management and control, Business Analytics, process mapping and visualisation, reporting, event and project coordination activities, business modelling, service design as well as assisting with areas like travel arrangements, time sheets, payroll, invoicing and much more!  

 

Requirements:

We are looking for motivated proactive students with a “can-do” attitude and interest for analytical and operational work. We value team players with the ability to cooperate in a multicultural environment and. 

 

As an ideal candidate you have: 

  • On-going studies in a relevant field (B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Business Administration, International Business, UX Design, Service Design, HR or equivalent)  
  • Working fluency in English, both written and spoken  
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)  
  • A proactive, customer service mindset 
  • Positive change management attitude 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills  
  • Target and result oriented attitude 
  • Strong skills in basic MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) 

 

Seen as a benefit: 

  • Knowledge and/or experience in SAP, M-Files, PowerBI, Qlikview and Success Factors  
  • Additional language skills (Finnish, Swedish or others)  
  • Experience from Data Management or Data Analytics 
  • Being tech savvy in one or more of the mentioned: Figma, Sketch, Canva, Adobe, Miro (or similar) 
  • Understanding or experience in design thinking and visualization of processes  
  • Experience, knowledge or motivation towards establishing business models and potential business cases 
  • Interest in project management and knowledge of PM frameworks (like agile) 
  • The ability to transfer theoretical skills into action

 

 

Some of the positions may have Finnish or Swedish as language requirements, so please remember to mention your language skills and proficiency levels in your CV.
