This category includes summer trainee positions for the Wärtsilä Shared Service Center in Vaasa, as well as finance focused positions located inside other areas of business, such as Business Control.

 

Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting and other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. WSSC is striving for a harmonized one global Wärtsilä way of working with high quality, timely, effective and efficient processes.

 

Responsibilities:

As a summer trainee your main task is to support your team with daily tasks and perform work in your area of responsibility according to instructions, tools and required standards. The specific tasks will vary depending on your team, skills, experience and interest.

 

In the Summer Power campaign, we have trainee possibilities for instance in the following functions:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Invoicing
  • Travel Expenses
  • Payments and Accounts Receivable
  • General Accounting & Entity Close
  • Fixed Assets Accounting
  • Admin billing
  • Intra-Group Matching
  • Master Data
  • Financial Statutory Accounting including Finance, Customs and VAT
  • Export Documentation
  • Finance & Business Control

 

Requirements: 

We are looking for motivated, curious and solution focused students that share our ambitions towards decarbonisation and making a difference. We value team players with the ability to cooperate in an environment that supports diversity and inclusion.

 

As an ideal candidate you have:

  • On-going studies in a relevant field (Economics, Financial Accounting, Business Administration, International Business or equivalent)
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Good IT skills (including MS Office programs)
  • Pro-active, analytical, systematic, and organised way of working
  • Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving capabilities

 

Also seen as a benefit:

  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Access and/or PowerBI
  • Interest in developing and automating financial processes
  • Experience in shared services operations
  • Knowledge of VAT and other tax regulations.

To ensure a fair and equal compensation for all selected trainees, the salary for each trainee (monthly salaries) is set based on the level of studies and number of acquired study credits. The salary range is 1 825€ - 2 535€/month depending on the above given factors.
