We are looking for a recent graduate (has graduated within the last 12 months) or a student close to finalising the studies for Wärtsilä IM Process Automation to join the team as a trainee. Our team provide wide range of process automation solutions including robotic process automation, test automation and business process management & automation. We provide our solutions with modern technologies with cloud environments and by using DevOps practices.


Process Automation team is part of Data and Analytics team which is recognised as a catalyst for Wärtsilä in the journey to become a data driven enterprise. The Data and Analytics team is responsible for the total lifecycle management of process automation, data warehousing systems and advanced analytics. The position we are offering gives great opportunity to work with latest software technologies in all lifecycle phases of our process automation services: development and maintenance of our automation platform, exploring and development of new automation technology solutions and training the solutions to the business users.


This position is located in Vaasa, Finland. The position is temporary trainee position for 6 months. 



  • Develop and deliver automation tools & solutions using suitable technologies & platforms
  • Participate in process automation platform development and maintenance
  • Manage the documentation and communication in own responsibility area
  • Support and training of the automation solutions to the business users
  • Work closely with business process and technology teams to develop and deliver sophisticated process automations in projects




  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. studies in Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent education
  • Hands-on software development experience with e.g. .Net, C# and/or Python
  • Self-driven, supportive, analytical and goal-focused, with a 'can do' attitude
  • Knowledge of database technologies (e.g. SQL) and integration technologies (REST / SOAP)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing services, such as Azure and AWS is advantage
  • Knowledge of DevOps methods & tools is advantage (e.g. familiar with Git and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code concept)
  • Desire to get involved with the latest technologies and to become an expert in process automation
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Fluency in English
