We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer with a main responsibility in with castings and machined components and suppliers. The preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland but also other locations in Finland are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Supplier Development Engineer your work will include:
- Actively support new product introduction and lead proactive quality assurance activities for castings, machined castings and related assemblies
- Analyse supplier performance and capabilities, identify development opportunities and drive impactful development actions
- Develop and execute supplier development action plans to improve supplier performance
- Support suppliers with their operational development initiatives in relation to cost, quality and delivery
- Execute supplier audits and audit follow-up according to supplier development action plan and verify impact
The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of impactful Supplier Development team and casting category team with diverse expertise.
Requirements for the position:
- Previous experience of casting and machining processes and quality management
- Strong personal drive for identifying development potential and taking lead on initiatives
- Performance-focused mindset and capability to make an impact
- A systematic way of working and excellent problem-solving skills
- Good teamworking, leadership and communication skills
- Capability to apply lean principles and statistical process control in daily work for driving improvement
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or Economics and Business Administration, or qualified equivalent
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Willingness to travel
- Experience of Production Part Approval Process / Experience in quality management for example in manufacturing processes
- Previous auditing experience or lead auditor qualification (e.g ISO 9001) is seen as an advantage
- Experience in SAP is seen as a benefit
