Supplier Development Engineer

Your role and responsibilities   

  

As a Supplier Development Engineer your work will consist of: 

  

  • Managing new product introduction and leading proactive quality assurance activities for castings manufacturing and machining 

  • Analysing supplier performance and capabilities, identifying development opportunities and driving impactful development actions 

  • Developing and executing supplier development action plans to improve supplier performance 

  • Supporting suppliers with their operational development initiatives in relation to quality, delivery and cost 

  • Executing supplier audits and audit follow-up according to supplier development action plan and verifying impact 

  

You’ll be working as a part of impactful Supplier Development team and Category team with diverse expertise. 

 

 

Requirements for the position:  

  

  • Strong experience of iron and aluminium casting and machining technologies and manufacturing processes 

  • Quality management process understanding 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Strong personal drive for identifying development potential and proven skills on leading improvement projects or initiatives successfully within crossfunctional teams 

  • Performance-focused mindset and capability to make an impact on increasing performance level 

  • A systematic way of working and excellent problem-solving skills 

  • Capability to apply lean principles and statistical process control in daily work for driving improvement 

  
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:  
 

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or Economics and Business Administration, or qualified equivalent 

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written 

  • Willingness to travel 

  • Experience of Production Part Approval Process / Experience in quality management for example in manufacturing processes 

  • Previous auditing experience or lead auditor qualification (e.g ISO 9001) 

  • Strong experience with Six sigma (Six Sigma green belt or equivalent)
