We are looking for a Tax Controller with a main responsibility in high-quality tax reporting especially related to branch offices and permanent establishments abroad, compliance on the legal entity level and supporting businesses in project taxation and operations. Support in arranging high-standard tax operations and performance related to tax processes, tools and systems, reporting and compliance within the Taxation Center of Expertise.
Position information:
The preferred location for this permanent position is Vaasa, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work. Please note that this position does not offer visa sponsorship or relocation support
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Tax Controller, your work will include:
- Tax and statutory reporting compliance related to branch offices and permanent establishments abroad, including possible audit procedures
- Managing local tax registrations according to need
- Communication with local tax authorities and/or local service providers
- Reporting VAT transactions to local tax authorities according to current, local legislation
- Monitor foreign reclaim process quality and output
- Transfer Pricing; company-level Transfer Pricing documentation. Ensure together with Business units that the Transfer pricing template gives the correct view of the company’s intercompany transactions
- Indirect and direct tax reporting and compliance on the legal entity level
- Participate in tax governance, internal controls and compliance
- You’ll be working as a part of Wärtsilä Global Business Services (WGBS) organisation in the Taxation Center of Excellence team, Statutory Tax & Company Compliance Service Tower
Requirements for the position:
- Subject matter expertise on Taxation
- Fluent in English
- Know-how of SAP and other relevant reporting tools
- Competence in tax laws and principles
- Accounting and IFRS knowledge (both international and local)
- Experience in Tax audits
- Problem solving & service excellence skills
- Team working and relationship-building skills
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- Bachelor or Master’s level university education or equivalent
- Some years of working experience in Taxation and Finance
