We are seeking an enthusiastic Technical Expert specialising in Lube Oil Systems to join our skilled Engine Auxiliary Systems team. We welcome candidates at various levels of seniority, as this role can also be offered as Senior Technical Expert.

 

The position is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred locations are Vaasa, Finland and Trieste, Italy, but Turku, Finland can also be considered. In line with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely. To support our customers around the world, occasional travel is required, with the flexibility to adjust the frequency based on your preferences.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As a (Senior) Technical Expert, you will work with technical queries from end customers. You will solve complex technical and operational problems, propose product improvements to meet quality targets, and ultimately ensure customer satisfaction. This role bridges the gap between theory and practice, field operations, and RDE, bringing field incident experience to developers and suppliers to prevent recurrence.

 

In this role, your main area of expertise will be Lube Oil Systems, but you will also serve as a backup for methanol systems and future fuels. Given the technical problem-solving nature of this position, we hope you are passionate about finding solutions to complex technical issues.

 

 

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Providing high-level expert support for internal and external customers.
  • Conducting site surveys and troubleshooting in the field.
  • Performing failure analyses and root cause analyses.
  • Producing field follow-up materials, feedback analyses, and reports.
  • Creating and maintaining technical content in service bulletins.
  • Participating in the introduction of new products and solutions.
  • Supporting product improvement processes by sharing valuable field experiences and feedback.
  • Representing the company as a Technical Expert in customer and supplier meetings.
  • Occasionally hosting training sessions for internal and external customers.
  • Actively engaging in continuous competence development and acquiring new knowledge within your area of expertise.

 

 

Preferred qualifications and experience:

 

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar education, or qualifications gained through relevant work experience.
  • Practical experience with auxiliary systems in the field.
  • A basic understanding of mass and heat balances.
  • Experience with engine cooling, heat recovery, lubrication, or gas systems.
  • A solution-oriented mindset and excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ambition to learn, adapt to, and develop new technologies.
  • Proficient English language skills are required, Finnish or Swedish language skills are beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
