Technical Expert

We are looking for Technical Expert to Technical Management, Small & Medium Bore engines.

Wärtsilä is a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets. R&D and Engineering creates innovations to products. Engine Platform implements new technologies to products for enabling our customers to continuously improve their environmental and economic performance.

For Technical Management this means that we are part of the development projects. Technical Management is also responsible for maintaining active technical product portfolio management to support sales, delivery projects, manufacturing and service.

 

Responsibilities:    

  • Develop technical solutions and create plans together with Engines Platform Development and implement new future fuels and features to engines.
  • Manage the assigned tasks / areas for enabling efficient work together with our internal stakeholders in RDE, Delivery Factories, Product Management, Service and Marine and Energy Business sales.
  • Provide accurate technical answers and data for sales opportunities, delivery projects and factories.

 

Requirements:    

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with diesel and/or gas engines or some other technical field
  • Engine technical or designer skills
  • Problems solving and solution finding skills
  • Risk management skills
  • Good positive drive and ability to work both independently and in teams 
  • Good communication and co-operation skills
  • Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Project Engineer/Manager experience seen as benefit
  • Knowledge of Wärtsilä business seen as benefit
