Test Engineer, Embedded Automation Testing


Wärtsilä Marine Power, Power Supply, R&D and Engineering, Testing & Validation is hiring a Test Engineer to the Embedded Automation Testing team. 

The position is permanent and will be located in Vaasa, Finland.

Testing & Validation operates engines and test rig platforms, with the main purpose to test new concepts and technologies and to validate new components and product releases for Wärtsilä engines.



  • Validation of Wärtsilä product automation system.
  • Maintain and update T&V’s test platforms’ product automation system.
  • Working in close cooperation with the development/engineering/engine test teams and supporting the validation and release/delivery process of systems/engines.
  • Testing- and supporting lifecycle activities of system components and creating related documentation.
  • Develop test routines and processes.



  • MSc or BSc in Electrical/Automation/Software Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Good skills in reporting and detail management, communication and organizing. 
  • Proven communication skills in Finnish or Swedish as well as English. 
  • Special interest and experience in embedded automation systems on reciprocating engines seen as an advantage.
  • The appropriate candidates shall demonstrate a clear attitude and willingness to executing daily activities on test rigs and test engines, to practical work and to flexibility in workload balancing.
