Test Engineer

Wärtsilä Marine Power, Power Supply, R&D and Engineering, Testing & Validation looking for a Test Engineer with a main responsibility in component testing at our test rigs. This is a permanent position located in Vaasa.

 

 

Your role and responsibilities

 

As a Test Engineer your work will include test setup, testing and reporting. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of energetic Rig Testing team with diverse expertise.

 

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Maintenance, development, and upgrading of test engines/rigs and test infra
  • Steering, guiding, and carrying out mechanical assembly tasks related to different test setups
  • Planning, organizing, and executing component, performance, and functionality tests on test engines/rigs
  • Analysing and reporting of test results
  • Verification of correct and properly saved measurement data
  • Usage of different control and measurement programs
  • Update and development of test methods and facilities
  • Supporting different activities in product and technology testing
  • Co-operating with product/platform teams and expert organization

 

 

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

 

  • Relevant technical education (MSc or BSc in suitable field of engineering)
  • Interest in and basic knowledge of engine technology, deeper knowledge of 4-stroke engine technology is an advantage
  • Good skills in control & measurement systems are an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Good skills in communication and documentation
  • Good team working skills, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Good command of English, Finnish or Swedish is seen as an advantage
  • Experience in technology and product development related tasks is seen as an advantage
