Trainee - Supplier Development Engineer

We are now looking for a Trainee to join the team of Supplier Development Engineers in Parts and Field Service. You will join a team of 8 supply management specialists spread in Italy, Finland and The Netherlands!

The preferred locations for this position are Vaasa, Finland and Trieste, Italy.

In this position, your work will include identifying, developing, and executing Supplier Development actions for the category team's scope of supply. On a typical day, you might start with monitoring and analysing supplier performance and end the day by executing an action plan for supplier improvements. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independence, as you will have support from Supplier Development teammates and the Category team (Strategic Purchaser and Category Manager).

For us to be the best match, we expect you to understand sourcing principles and Supply Management and you are currently studying in the field of study of Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering and/or Business.
For you to succeed in the position, we hope you have a strong solution-oriented approach, the capability to implement and persistence in follow-up activities to ensure sustainability and quality.


As Supplier Development, your work will focus on these responsibilities:


  • Monitor and analyse supplier performance and give guidance accordingly
  • Take ownership and action on Quality, Delivery and Cost activities
  • Support suppliers with their operational efficiency/product improvement and development initiative
  • Assess and follow up on the suppliers' quality management systems and Supplier Management System (VMS) rating
  • Point of contact for suppliers with quality, delivery or technical problems


You will shine in this role, when you have:


  • Understanding of Supply Management and Quality principles.
  • Project management knowledge.
  • Experience in SAP and reporting tools (PowerBI).
  • Value Stream Mapping mindset.


In this role, some travel is required to meet with our suppliers around Europe. Thus, we hope you will be ready to travel approximately 10%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
