Training Coordinator

The Wärtsilä Land & Sea Academy (WLSA) is responsible for delivering high-quality learning services to customers and employees around the world. Our training portfolio supports Wärtsilä's innovative technologies and solutions across the marine and energy sectors, helping customers develop the skills needed for a more sustainable future.   


We are now looking for an enthusiastic Training Coordinator to join our Training Coordination team in Vaasa, Finland.  Whilst we offer hybrid working, the operational nature of our business often requires attendance on site, and occasional flexibility outside normal working hours may be required. 


In this role, you will be at the heart of our global training operations, working closely with customers, instructors, sales teams, and business stakeholders to ensure an outstanding learning experience from initial enquiry to training completion. You will combine customer service, operational coordination, digital tools, and continuous improvement to deliver successful training programmes that create value for our customers and Wärtsilä.

What will you be doing?  


As a Training Coordinator, you will manage and coordinate the end-to-end training delivery process while ensuring a seamless customer experience.  


Your responsibilities will include:  


Training Operations  

  • Coordinate training delivery activities at the Vaasa Training Centre and other assigned learning environments. 
  • Manage course scheduling, participant registrations, notifications, reporting, and training documentation. 
  • Maintain training records and related data in SAP, Learning Management Systems, and other digital platforms. 
  • Coordinate resources (instructors, classrooms, workshop) allocation. 
  • Support training delivery and help resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively. 
  • Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve services and processes.  


Customer and Business Support  

 

  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of training activities for internal and external customers. 
  • Create and maintain training offerings and service packages. 
  • Collaborate with sales, account management, contract management, and business stakeholders to promote learning solutions. 
  • Support internal and external communication activities related to training services. 


What will help you succeed?  

We are looking for someone who combines strong coordination skills with a passion for customer service and continuous improvement.  


You will ideally have:  

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience. 
  • Experience with Learning management systems (LMS), training administration, learning operations, customer service, project coordination, or a similar role. 
  • Experience working with SAP and Salesforce would be considered an advantage.
  • Strong digital skills and confidence in learning new systems and technologies. 
  • Excellent, organisational and multitasking abilities.  You will be adept at coordinating evolving requirements and will frequently need to adapt to factors outside your control.
  • A structured and detail-oriented way of working. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • A proactive mindset and ability to identify and implement improvements.   
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.  You will be empowered to make decisions within your scope to advance your workload.
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering high-quality service. 
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken. 
  • Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
