Wärtsilä Energy Solutions is now looking for Transport Manager to manage lead and assess project transports as a part of the Supply Chain Management Team. This is temporary position for 14 months.

 

Location:

The preferred location for the position is in Finland, Vaasa or India, Mumbai.
 
What will you be doing:
As a Transport Manager, your main responsibilities include:

  • Managing and leading project transports to customer according to contracts and other requirements
  • Creation and follow-up of transportation plan for customer delivery projects
  • Selecting transport method and executing logistics service provider selection
  • Sourcing logistics service providers and negotiating transport agreements
  • Managing logistics programs to optimize transport costs as applicable
  • Cooperating with relevant internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Supporting project teams with project planning and scheduling  
  • Developing and facilitating development of delivery plans and method statements for heavy hauls 
  • Supporting project site teams with transportation and logistics matters 
  • Booking ocean freights and coordinating transport related claims 
  • Support sales in transport estimates, road surveys and logistics related matters.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in technical or commercial area 
  • Minimum 5+ years of working experience in project logistics including breakbulk.
  • Experience in analysing and evaluating key elements in global transports.
  • Ability to conduct large international negotiations participated by several interest groups 
  • Experience in large and complex logistics/transportation contracts
  • Detailed knowledge on Incoterms 2020, Logistics regulations on Dangerous Goods 
  • Cold chain logistics knowledge seen as advantage 
  • Systematic and organised way of working, good communication and coordination skills 
  • Excellent command of English, other languages seen as an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel
