This is a temporary role with a 2-year contract, based in Vancouver, following a hybrid work model requiring four days per week in the office.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind backlog clarity and structure, ensuring predictable execution across our Digital Port Solutions portfolio. By establishing a well-organised Jira environment and maintaining consistent requirements management, you will enable teams to work smarter. Your contribution will reduce the workload on Business Analysts and Project Managers, strengthen alignment across teams, and accelerate delivery velocity while enhancing transparency for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Backlog Management
- Maintain and continuously update product and project backlogs across multiple Digital Port Solutions delivery streams.
- Ensure backlog items are clear, well-structured, and aligned with defined acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate backlog refinement sessions with Business Analysts, Project Managers, SMEs, and technical leads.
- Support prioritisation based on business value, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
- Jira Administration
- Manage Jira boards, workflows, and dashboards to support project teams.
- Ensure tasks, stories, and epics are properly linked, categorised, and traceable.
- Monitor sprint progress, prepare burn-down/burn-up reports, and identify bottlenecks.
- Provide Jira support and recommend workflow improvements.
- Requirements Coordination
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to break down high-level requirements into actionable user stories.
- Maintain consistency of documentation across Jira, Confluence, and project repositories.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability across requirements, development tasks, and testing activities.
- Delivery Support
- Assist Project Managers and Delivery Leads with schedule inputs, progress reporting, and risk/issue tracking.
- Prepare dashboards and summaries for internal reviews and customer-facing updates.
- Coordinate across design, development, testing, and deployment teams.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend enhancements to backlog structure and Jira configurations.
- Contribute to standardisation of delivery processes and best practices across the DPS portfolio.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 1–4 years’ experience in Agile-support roles (e.g., backlog management, Jira administration, project coordination).
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence, including familiarity with ticketing systems and workflow management.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including SCRUM and Kanban, with practical experience applying these frameworks in project delivery.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to structure tasks and maintain clarity in fast-paced, multi-stream software delivery environments.
- Ability to translate business requirements into structured backlog items.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts, maintaining a calm and balanced approach under pressure.
- Strong facilitation skills, capable of gathering input from stakeholders and summarising group consensus effectively.
- Solid analytical and logical reasoning skills, ideally supported by an academic or professional background in a scientific or technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to bridge technical and business teams.
- Experience supporting software teams in maritime, logistics, transportation, or similar operational domains.
- Experience with workflow optimisation and Jira customisation.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale or integration-heavy software projects.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and foster collaboration in challenging situations.

For applicants that reside in BC, the annual salary wage range is $ 80,000 CAD - $ 95,000 CAD.
The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education, individual skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration of internal equity.
