Wärtsilä Shaft Line Solutions is an Original Equipment Manufacturer with over 100 years’ experience of designing, manufacturing and servicing shaft line products for the marine markets. The markets we serve include but are not limited to, Commercial, Merchant, Cruise and Naval.

We are now looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to strengthen the existing team.


We would consider any mainland European Shaftline location and we consider hybrid remote work possibilities.


Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the fulfilment of identified Marketing & communications plans for Shaft Line Solutions.
  • Align all activities towards achieving the business strategic and financial goals.
  • Responsible for marketing new product developments successfully as directed.
  • Contribute to defining the marketing & communications strategy, including objectives, target groups, key messages, marcom activities, timeline and forecast.
  • Identify and prioritise target groups in focus markets and build customised messaging. Target groups typically include both commercial customers in Merchant and Cruise markets primarily and relevant regulators.
  • Create high quality targeted content which clearly communicates the value Wärtsilä brings to the target group. Localise global materials to fit the focus markets’ context.
  • Plan and execute integrated marketing and communications campaigns leveraging tactics like digital marketing, media relations, events and conferences.
  • Communicate and share success stories and new developments.
  • Contribute to internal Townhall communications providing insights as per relevant stakeholder needs.
  • Propose forecast for marketing and communications activities and regularly follow up costs.
  • Track results and optimise actions along the way based on data, striving for maximum return on marketing investment.
  • Foster internal relationships to leverage Shaftline Systems organisation’s expertise, especially Growth & Development and Sales.



  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Business/Economics/Marketing/Communications
  • Experience in international B2B marketing, communications or related work
  • Interest and knowledge in digital marketing
  • Conceptual thinking and creative mindset, storytelling and content creation skills.
  • Shows interest and easily adapts locally relevant marketing tactics, tools and platforms.
  • Skilled in leveraging partner network of creative and PR agencies, striving for high quality and effectiveness.
  • Customer minded, curious, enthusiastic, pragmatic 
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written (Spanish fluency in language skills would be considered a plus)
