Field Service Mechanical Engineer - AMERICAN HYDRO CORPORATION

As the Field Service Mechanical Engineer, the role will take engineering lead to assure all field service engineering work scope is completed in order to support the project schedule requirements. Follow up with engineering team members assigned to the field service scope to assure on track, assist to get on track with escalate issue/concerns if needed.  Provide field service engineering costs to proposal team. 

 

Main Responsibilities: 
•    Review bid specification information at the proposal phase to assure all engineering scope and requirements are captured and documented. Provide estimate to FS Estimator/ Proposal lead for engineering costs. 
•    After project award update the scope/ requirements document and create responsibilities Matrix (engineering work scope). Work with Manager of Turbine Design Engineering and Manager of CAD Design to delegate field service scope. Taking into account all personnel workloads. 
•    Assist with training of engineers as required for stationary and rotating alignments. 
Responsibilities below are on based on this item being assigned/delegated to the field service engineer. 
•    Responsible for the mechanical design and layout of custom equipment for all operational activities of the field service department.  Interface with the complete powerhouse equipment scope to include generator, balance-of-plant equipment and civil structure.
•    Perform stress calculations on critical components and produce CAD drawings of all manufactured parts.  
•    Serve as the technical lead on field projects including all phases of design, tolerancing, layout, and detail drawings Conduct design review meetings as necessary with Operations, Project Management and Field Service.
•    Generate drawings and parts list for manufacturing components
•    Support installation and commissioning work including final unit alignment
•    Perform troubleshooting of turbine issues.
•    Preparation of technical papers and presentations at major conferences
 

Education: 
•    BS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
