Machinist Co-Op - American Hydro Corporation

deal candidate will be enrolled in a 4 year pre-employment Machinist program.  Individual shall be in the 3rd or 4th year of the program.  Individual must demonstrate correct operation of machinery and hand tools.

Main Learning Opportunities:

  • Develop understanding of safety requirements to work in large machine shop environment
  • Obtain exposure and involvement with tasks required for the machinist position
  • Learn how to operate machines and use hand tools & inspection gauge

Technical Skills Needed:

  • Knowldge of machining processes and procedures
  • Understanding of inspection equipment, tooling, metal processing, and shop safety

Mathematical Skills Needed:

  • Understand and calculate dimensional and quantity figures in both fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Physical Demands:

  • Employee must occassionally life and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for shift
