Senior Systems Engineer - American Hydro Corporation

Accountabilities:

• Performance of electrical and systems engineering equipment for a hydro turbine project

• Development of cost-effective custom equipment designs at the proposal stage and achievement of the budgeted costs at the final design stage

• On time completion of engineering deliverables

• Cost savings realized through design reviews and value engineering

Main Responsibilities:

• Commit to work under American Hydro core values that include open communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement

• Coordination and integration of purchased control systems, generators, auxiliaries, etc, with supplied turbine equipment to assure that equipment packages are competitive and perform as per customer and industry standards

• Prepare purchase specifications for generators, control systems and auxiliaries to support bids and contracts

• Monitor suppliers of equipment package components

• Generate drawings and parts lists for system components

• Review product discrepancies versus design requirements and prescribe disposition

• Initiate submittals to customers and/or suppliers and review and respond to comments on returned drawings and documents

• Write and compile Operating and Maintenance manuals

• Perform field troubleshooting and testing

• Satisfy ISO 9001 Quality Standards as they relate to these engineering tasks

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with ten years related experience and/or training in power plant systems engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Advanced engineering degree or Professional Engineering Certification preferred
