Welder Trainee - American Hydro Corporation

Ideal candidate will have skills and experience with

• General labor
• Grinding both simple and complex
• Cleaning and prepping parts for blast and paint

Main Learning Opportunities:

• Develop understanding of safety requirements to work in large plate shop environment.
• Train to be qualified to perform FCAW qualification in the 2G and 3G position. 

Technical Skills Needed:

• Knowledge of arc welding processes and procedures.  General understanding of welding equipment and consumables, metal processing, heating of metals and shop safety

Mathematical Skills Needed:

• Understand and calculate dimensional and quantity figures in both fractions and decimals
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Physical Demands:

• Employee must occassionally life and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Ability to stand for shift

Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
