Welder Trainee - American Hydro Corporation

American Hydro is currently looking for two Welder Trainees to join our Fabrication family at our York, PA facility. We are a tight-knit group that takes a great deal of pride in what we produce. Ideal candidate will have skills and experience with
- General labor
- Grinding both simple and complex
- Cleaning and prepping parts for blast and paint
Main Learning Opportunities:
- Develop understanding of safety requirements to work in large plate shop environment.
- Train to be qualified to perform FCAW qualification in the 2G and 3G position.
Technical Skills Needed:
- Knowledge of arc welding processes and procedures. General understanding of welding equipment and consumables, metal processing, heating of metals and shop safety
Mathematical Skills Needed:
- Understand and calculate dimensional and quantity figures in both fractions and decimals
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Physical Demands:
- Employee must occassionally life and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for shift
Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
