Sales Engineer

Do you get energy from building relations with your own dedicated group of international customers? Are you able to translate a customer question into a technical quotation and winning sales order? Do you like an international working environment with several stakeholders such as customers, network companies, distributors and technical and logistics colleagues?

 

Then you might be the new Sales Engineer that we are looking for!  

 

As a Sales Engineer at QuantiParts (a Wärtsilä company), it is your main goal to process and coordinate all customer special spare parts requests and in-dept technical support on their classic engines. Your are responsible for the complete preparation and handling of the quotations and orders in our ERP system, actively guide the logistics and transport of all technical parts towards our Maritime and Energy customers. You are continuously looking for ways to improve the customer satisfaction and the most accurate and efficient way to service our customers.

 

You have the responsibility for your own group of customers and prospects in one of our global sales areas. It is a very dynamic position in which you are continuously in contact with customers, network companies, distributors and several QuantiParts and Wärtsilä colleagues to follow up the business and opportunities in the field.

 

You will become part of a team consisting of multiple Sales Engineers and Sales Support Specialists at our office in Zwolle. Occasional travelling to our network centres, distributors or customers is part of the position.

 

 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • You are able to actively sell spare parts and (field)service projects directly to our customers, network companies or distributors in mainly Asia region.
  • Translate the customer’s questions into technical specifications and correct products.
  • Actively follow-up on customer requests and communicate with internal and external stakeholders about spare parts orders, quotations, back orders and claims. 
  • You prepare customer visits and coordinate inspections of shipments and equipment.
  • Ensure correctness of installed base with our customers and network.
  • Be prepared for additional technical and sales product trainings 
  • You are aware of the overall profitability and the sales margin in your orders.

 

What do we expect from you?

  • You hold a vocational or bachelor degree, combined with a few years of working experience within a technical/commercial position.
  • It is seen as a big advantage, if you have technical background and/or interest in engines, or other rotating equipment.
  • You have a customer minded and service-oriented attitude with a can-do mentality.
  • Travel abroad when the situation requires you to travel
  • Due to our international network, you are fluent in English.
  • You have excellent teamwork skills with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Preferably you are experienced with ERP (SAP) and CRM Software.
