Field Service Coordinator

We are looking for a Field Service Coordinator to join our Field Services Operations Team in Italy. The position can be located in Genoa, Naples or Trieste. Hybrid work is an option for this role.

 

What will you be doing? 

As a Field Service Coordinator you will work as responsible for all Field Services (FS) activities assigned towards the final Customer, cooperate with sales proposal team to estimate FS activities budget  in terms hours and man/days, as well as interface with Sales for improving Customer satisfaction.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead and coordinate Field Service activities, including personnel, spare parts, costs, and time.
  • Be Responsible and accountable about results and deviations of all services handled in accordance with what planned.
  • Support field service personnel when they are assigned on a job.
  • Act as the contact person for the customer during the jobs.
  • Communicate with the customer, our engineers, and sales during the delivery of Field Service jobs.
  • Promote effective communication with other departments (Technical Service, Sales Proposal, Sales, Contract and Project Management etc.) to, according to needs and requirements, ensuring the satisfaction of internal and external customers.
  • Follow-up and supervise needed actions to secure customer satisfaction regarding Field Service jobs assigned.
  • Follow up the service work orders until invoicing, including change orders, technical documentation, timesheets, travel expenses, and vendors invoices.
  • Manage all jobs in SAP and CRM (ServiceWorkForce) from an administrative standpoint.
  • Take responsibility for briefing and debriefing of the engineers before and after the jobs.
  • Ensure that engineers execute the work according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
     

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Mechanical Knowledge (i.e. Technical School with Field service Engineer experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering)
  • Technical understanding of marine products and services
  • Able to learn and utilize many computer programs and platforms. (Office, SAP, Salesforce, ETC.)
  • E&A knowledge will be a plus
  • Good English
  • Moderate on-call expectations to support customers and engineers in the field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to communicate daily with many different internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Able to work independently with little to no supervision on a daily basis
  • Experience in People management
  • Be willing & available for short travels for customer and/or site visits.
