We are currently looking for a Non-Conformity Expert PD to join our Quality team in Kampen, The Netherlands. This role is particularly meaningful as you will be taking over from a valued team member who is retiring, ensuring continuity while also bringing in fresh perspectives and energy to the team. You will become part of a highly skilled and collaborative quality environment consisting of a dedicated Non-Conformity team of 5 experts and a wider Quality department of 14 professionals. Together, we work to ensure the highest product quality standards for our customers worldwide.
What you will be doing
In this role, you are at the heart of ensuring product quality and customer trust. You will investigate, analyze, and resolve non-conformities related to Wärtsilä spare parts supplied to customers worldwide, while driving continuous improvement across processes and products.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Investigating quality-related customer complaints (XS-Nonconformities) from initial notification to closure
- Performing root cause analysis to identify why issues occur and how to prevent recurrence
- Searching and analysing information across multiple systems (including SAP and technical databases)
- Performing stock inspections and measurements using hand tools and technical drawings to verify product quality
- Ensuring non-conforming parts are identified and prevented from reaching customers
- Compiling clear and structured Root Cause Analysis reports in technical English
- Testing and measuring components according to technical standards, drawings, and specifications
- Coordinating material analysis and inspections with Technical Support when required
- Making technical decisions on whether parts need to be reworked, repaired, or recalled
- Driving corrective and preventive actions to improve product and process quality
- Ensuring operational performance by meeting quality KPIs and contributing to overall customer satisfaction
What we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you bring both technical understanding and strong analytical capability:
- A technical background, preferably in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Strong analytical thinking and proven experience in root cause analysis
- Experience in a quality-driven or high-precision technical environment
- A structured, detail-oriented and decisive working style
- A collaborative mindset with a strong service and customer focus
- Experience with SAP is an advantage
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership
